Biography:  A Lifelong Passion

Jewell Jones began her connection to massage therapy in her youth from a blind massage therapist who provided massage therapy to naval officers in Norfolk, VA.  Over the years, she provided comfort and therapy to family and acquaintances without full comprehension of the true benefits of the services she was providing.  At the height of her career with the airline industry, her job was outsourced which led her to reconnect with her lost love for massage therapy.  Her intensive studies led her to Forsyth Technical Community College where she completed the diploma program with high honors.

Realizing the medical benefits of complementary and alternative therapies, Jewell embraced her passion by pursuing an Associate in Applied Science degree in Therapeutic Massage, while being chosen to participate in a Medical Massage Co-op at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.  The Associate Degree program also included Level 7 Certification in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Chakra Balancing and Healing, and First and Second Degree Reiki Certification.  Because of a strong intuitive gift from childhood, it was only natural for Jewell to pursue additional studies to receive Reiki Master certification in 2014.  Jewell is a strong believer in the incorporation of universal energy to promote and enhance natural healing.  Her continued studies included advanced studies in such modalities as Oncology (cancer) Massage, Geriatric (elderly), Hospice Care, Cardio/Pulmonary, Burn Trauma, Lymphatic Drainage, Intensive Assessment skills and research into the benefits of Massage Therapy for various medical conditions such as tension/migraine headaches, Fibromyalgia, Menieres Disease, Vertigo, PTSD, varying pain pathways, and massage benefits for several auto immune diseases.

Jewell has been a clinical massage therapy instructor at an Allied Health College/University since 2012 and is also a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association through Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  In June of 2017, Jewell completed a Third Degree Personal Mastery Reiki program acquiring higher attunement.  Also in July 2017, she completed studies for her Pharmacy Technician certification to better understand how medication impacts a person on a cellular level to better establish what contraindications exist for varying techniques in her massage treatment plan for her clients.  Her Pharmacy Tech certification is forthcoming.

 

She is currently studying Accupressure and Qigong (self-healing) Instructor certification.
